Isaac was pretty excited to answer Sarah's phone call today. She didn't even have a chance to guess the gender of our unborn before Isaac blurted out, "I'm watching a video of our next baby - it's a boy!" Then Mom got to have the phone.
We didn't actually need confirmation of the gender once the ultrasound technician said that the little hand was hanging out on the baby's backside - just like big brother.
We're relieved that it doesn't look like we'll have to see a neonatologist this time around, though they would like to do a follow-up ultrasound in a month to make sure the "choroids" (place in or near the brain where spinal fluid is produced?) have filled in. No other indications of problems, for which we are incredibly grateful.
To make our announcement to the kids, we put on the ultrasound video and then gave them little bags of blue treats, which quickly turned into blue tongues, teeth, lips, faces, and hands. Maybe we shouldn't be having more children.... Or maybe we should just leave sticky blue treats to grandparents!

Cute way to announce it to the kids. I bet Isaac is so excited for a brother. :)
So great! I love that you did something creative to share the news with your kids even if it ended in a royal mess.
Such wonderful news.
how exciting another cute little boy. congrats!!
yay! a boy! what a cute little idea with the blue treats- even if they were sticky. glad everything looks good. i hope you're feeling wonderful!
Congrats!!! A boy! How fun! Glad you were able to celebrate with blue mouths :) What a cute idea.
Congrats, you guys! It will be so fun to have another boy in the family. Plus, our pressure is a little relieved!
Isacc cracks me up!!! Good thing Kate is oblivious and that Isaac and Steve are happy about #3 being a boy. I guess it's a Brother Sandwich with Kate in the middle. Congrats and can't wait for the next phone adventure with Isaac.
Congrats!!
